Uncommonly cold start to the work week with a BIG warmup headed our way

Good morning! It's an uncommonly cold start to the work week but we are going to potentially hit triple digits by next weekend so buckle up for a rollercoaster of warming temperatures this week as Mother Nature quickly cranks up the heat!

This morning we are waking up to cloudy skies and some scattered to isolated showers that are set to taper off this afternoon.

This is all due to low pressure tracking across the Gem State coupled with a deep trough.

This low is bringing a cold front today that will warm highs into the low to mid 60s with breezy winds throughout the day, expect these chilly conditions through Tuesday morning in the upper 30s and low 40s!

That is a good 20 degrees below average for daytime highs for this time of the year.

Winds 15-20mph possible with 25mph gusts. Isolated thunderstorms are possible with higher wind gust values around those potential storms.

There is a frost advisory in effect for SE Idaho though us here in SW Idaho will be waking up mild in the mid 40s.

Cloud cover is expected through much of the day, with clearing into the evening.

As we head further into the work week we will see a quick warming trend as a strong ridge of high pressure brings us sunny skies and a warm SW flow,

We could hit the upper 90s and even the triple digits by next weekend! Stay tuned!
